My newest songs, “Pīkake Princess” and “Pīkake Princess (Instrumental Version),” are a tribute to Princess Kaʻiulani, the last heir to the Hawaiian monarchy, and her former home, ʻĀinahau, where the OUTRIGGER Waikīkī Paradise Hotel now stands. Rather than trying to portray Princess Kaʻiulani herself, I wrote this song as a reflection of the qualities and parallels we share. Like her, I travel far yet carry home in my heart. We are both women of the world… but also coconut girls.
