Twilight — the dusk hour when light bends and glitters into mirage, giving rise to visions and the sense that the ordinary world has quietly slipped somewhere else.

On this album, I invite listeners to join me on a journey to a place I've never been — into Liʻulā and beyond, through the twilight and into the darkness before rising back to where we began. I've always found inspiration in the natural and spiritual worlds. On Liʻulā, I seek to connect us to these planes, help us explore them, and in the process, learn more about ourselves and each other.

When you stare intensely into the darkness, new worlds arise — blurring the lines between reality and illusion and unearthing channels to your soul.

Songwriting is one of my favorite aspects of the art of music, especially instrumental compositions. I am forever drawn to the opportunity to use music to bring an emotion, experience or object — like 'The Moon' or 'Water' — to life. 'Liʻulā' is the title and final track on my album, a conduit to the unseen and unknown.

Live performance has been a central part of me and my music since I was 7 years old — when I first started busking in Waikīkī — and remains so to this day.

I've self-produced my last four albums. On the first, I explored the universe ('We Are Made of Stars'). On the second, I became fully immersed in the building blocks of our world ('Elemental'). Next, I embarked on a spiritual journey with my Native Polynesian ancestors ('Hawaiki'). Finally, on my new album, I venture into mystical spheres in my Hawaiian home ('Liʻulā').
